Come watch Sacramento's very own women's semi pro UPSL team, Racing FC Sacramento. The UPSL is one of the most competitive women's league in the Sacramento region and a great opportunity for players who love competing to continue to play at a high level outside of college and high school. The league occupies the 4th tier of the US Soccer pyramid, just below the three professional tiers in the pyramid. With a participant average age of 22.5 years, the UPSL fills the large gap that exists between the youth game and the professional game, serving thousands of aspiring players and coaches as they strive to further their aspirations and fuel their passions.

Lisa Wrightsman is a community leader, soccer advocate, experienced soccer player and Managing Director of Street Soccer USA Sacramento. With years of experience in youth development, community programming, and grassroots soccer, she has helped expand access to the game for underserved youth and families across the Sacramento region. Lisa has played a key role in developing inclusive soccer spaces, organizing leagues, tournaments, clinics, and mentorship programs that use sport as a tool for connection and opportunity. Through her leadership, Street Soccer USA Sacramento has grown into a vibrant community hub focused on empowerment, education, and social impact. Lisa is passionate about creating pathways for young people through soccer while building partnerships with schools, nonprofits, cities, and local organizations. Her work combines a love for the game with a commitment to strengthening communities and creating positive change through sport.

I am a community-based soccer coach with over 10 years of experience and a 28-year playing background, currently holding a U.S. Soccer Grassroots D License and pursuing my C License. Through my work with Street Soccer USA and other local clubs, I have delivered free and low-cost soccer programming to youth from diverse and underserved communities. I specialize in player-centered development, prioritizing long-term growth, confidence, and access to sport over short-term results. My programs emphasize consistent participation, skill progression, and social-emotional development, using soccer as a tool to build resilience, teamwork, and accountability. Across my coaching roles, I have supported the development of hundreds of players, many of whom are first-time participants in organized sports. I focus on creating safe, inclusive environments that remove barriers to entry and encourage sustained engagement, particularly for girls and underrepresented youth. My approach combines structured training, mentorship, and positive reinforcement, resulting in improved player retention, increased confidence, and stronger team cohesion. I am committed to continuous learning and community impact, using soccer not just to develop athletes, but to help shape confident, capable individuals.

With 19 years of coaching experience, I’ve had the opportunity to work across every level of the game, from grassroots soccer to academy player development and collegiate coaching. My passion has always been using soccer as more than just a sport, but as a tool for growth, confidence, and community. As a Program Manager at Street Soccer USA, I focus on introducing the game at the grassroots level and creating positive experiences that inspire players to stay connected to soccer. Beyond developing athletes, my goal is to help young people grow as human beings, teaching life lessons through the game and encouraging them to use those positive experiences to make better choices both on and off the field.
